On 13 August 2025, the Consul General met with senior leadership from Nebraska during his visit to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In a cordial meeting with Governor Jim Pillen, the Consul General reiterated appreciation for the State of Nebraska’s gesture of hosting a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Governor’s Office in the State Capitol, Lincoln, and acknowledged the Governor’s strong support for advancing Nebraska–India relations. Discussions also explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. The Consul General also met with U.S. Congressman Adrian Smith (Nebraska, District 3) and valued his perspectives on further strengthening the India–U.S. friendship.
