Important Notice : Please create a new user account on the Passport Seva Portal before filling out any application (using a new email address)

Applicants applying for Passports, GEP, PCC, and Surrender Certificates are requested to carefully verify that their applications fall under the correct Consular jurisdiction.

The Consulate General of India, Seattle is a newly established Consulate in the United States. The states of Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska were previously served by other Indian Consulates prior to the establishment of CGI Seattle.

Applicants who had earlier applied through other Consulates must create a new account on the Passport Seva Portal using a new email address. This is necessary because the option to select the Consular jurisdiction is available only at the time of account creation on the portal.

Applicants are advised to ensure that they select Consulate General of India, Seattle as their jurisdiction while creating the new account and submitting the application.

Once the Application is Submitted - Note down the ARN (Application Reference Number) and take a Print out of the Application

Police Verification (PV) in India is part of the Indian passport renewal process.

  1. After PV is initiated by the Consulate, the local police will visit the address provided in India for verification. This process may take up to two weeks.

  2. If you want to expedite the process, or if no one is available at the given address to meet the police in person, you may authorize (send) a relative or acquaintance to visit the nearest police station on your behalf to assist with the verification.

In case you have already received your passport and the Police Verification is still pending:

  1. 1. If the police have contacted you or your family in India:
Please provide the documents or information requested by the police to complete the verification process. The required documents may vary on a case-by-case basis, and the Consulate may not have specific details regarding the requirements.
  2. In the meantime, your passport remains valid and can be used for travel.

  3. 2. If the police have not contacted you or your family in India:
No action is required from your side at this time. If any additional information or action is needed, either the concerned Police Station or the Consulate will contact you directly.
  4. In the meantime, your passport remains valid and can be used for travel.
