Attestation of Documents

Note:

  • Follow the two steps below to get your documents attested by the Consulate.

Step 1) Prepare Supporting Documents

Official Government Application Form (Click Here)

(Download, Fill and Sign the official government application form)

2.

Original document (which needs to be attested)

NOTE: Documents issued by US authorities (such as US driver’s license, US passport, Lease agreement, Employment letter, Bank statement etc.) need to be notarized by public notary for availing attestation service from Consulate.

3.

Notarized copy of the current passport (first and last pages)

4.

Notarized copy of proof of U.S. legal status showing a valid U.S. visa

5.

Notarized copy of proof of address in the U.S.

2.

Original document (which needs to be attested)

Step 2) Submit the Documents & Fees to VFS Global

FAQs on Attestation of Documents

Stage 1 – Submission

Follow the 2 steps mentioned above to submit the required documents to VFS Global (either in person or by mail).

Stage 2 – VFS Review

VFS Global reviews the documents. If the application is complete, VFS forwards the file to the Consulate.

(Note: If any documents are missing, VFS Global will notify the applicant by email. The applicant must submit the requested documents within 21 business days. Failure to do so will result in rejection of the application.)

Stage 3 – Consulate Processing

The Consulate verifies the application, processes it, and returns it to VFS Global.

Stage 4 – Closure

VFS Global closes the application and dispatches the processed documents to the applicant.
