How do I apply for an NRI Certificate?
Stage 1 –
Submission
Follow the 2 steps mentioned above to submit the required documents to VFS Global (either in person or by mail).
Stage 2 – VFS
Review
VFS
Global reviews the documents. If the application is complete, VFS forwards the file to the
Consulate.
(Note: If any documents are missing, VFS Global will notify the applicant
by email. The applicant must submit the requested documents within 21 business days. Failure
to do so will result in rejection of the application.)
Stage 3 –
Consulate Processing
The
Consulate verifies the application, processes it, and returns it to VFS Global.
Stage 4 –
Closure
VFS
Global closes the application and dispatches the processed documents to the applicant.
