Step 1) Prepare Supporting Documents

Applicant's Photograph – 2" x 2" Size

Paste the applicant’s photo on the Government Application Form. To know more about photo specifications (Click Here)

3.

Original Power of Attorney (Notarized)

  • Please Stick Applicant’s Photo at Last Page of Power of Attorney.

  • Applicant's Signature on PoA should match with the signature in the current valid passport.

  • 2 Witnesses should sign the POA

    Note: Witnesses can not be your Spouse or Blood Relatives.

Notarized copy of the current passport (first and last pages)

5.

Notarized copy of proof of U.S. legal status showing a valid U.S. visa

6.

Notarized copy of proof of address in the U.S.

7.

Photocopy of the PoA Document (Make the copy only after the Notarization & Signing is done)

FAQs on Power of Attorney

Stage 1 – Submission

The applicant submits the required documents (either in person or by mail) to VFS Global.

Stage 2 – VFS Review

VFS Global reviews the documents. If the application is complete, VFS forwards the file to the Consulate.

(Note: If any documents are missing, VFS Global will notify the applicant by email. The applicant must submit the requested documents within 21 business days. Failure to do so will result in rejection of the application.)

Stage 3 – Consulate Processing

The Consulate verifies the application, processes it, and returns it to VFS Global.

Stage 4 – Closure

VFS Global closes the application and dispatches the processed documents to the applicant.
