Indian Tricolour unfurled on India's 78th Independence Day at the Federal Reserve Building in Seattle!

The 78th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Seattle at the newly opened Indian Consulate with the unfurling of the Indian tricolour at the Federal Reserve Building in downtown Seattle.

A large number of Indian community leaders, along with Mayor of Seattle Bruce Harrell, Attorney General Bob Ferguson, King County Executive Dow Constantine, City Council President Sara Nelson and Seattle Interim Police Chief Sue Rahr, also joined in the celebrations.

The event also featured cultural performances from several distinguished artists, including “Bharata Desham” on violin by Grammy Award winner Prof. Ganesh Rajagopalan.

In a special gesture, King County issued a proclamation designating 15 August as the “India Day” to be annually observed in all cities of King County.
