Metropolitan King County Council issued Official Proclamation today honoring India’s 78th Independence Day as “India Day” across the 73 cities of King County, Washington!

- Recognized India’s achievements in education, health care and economic development;
- Noted the role of the Indian American community as reflecting the values of inclusion and pluralism;
- Acknowledged India’s commitment to democracy, secularism and social justice remains unwavering.

It may be noted that the Metropolitan King County Council oversees the second largest government and the most populous county in Washington State. With more than 2.3 million residents, King County is the 12th largest county in the U.S and council member represents a geographical district of over 260,000 residents.
