Outreach Outreach

As part of Consulate’s ongoing outreach with its consular jurisdictional states, Consul General undertook an official visit to Omaha and Lincoln on 5–6 December 2025. During the visit:

  • Hon’ble Governor Jim Pillen welcomed strengthening India–Nebraska ties, particularly in culture, higher education, ag-tech and business.


  • US Senator Pete Ricketts appreciated India’s positive economic growth story and looked forward to increased India-Nebraska bilateral trade and investment.


  • Ms. Kari Costello, Creighton University’s Vice Provost of Global Engagement and other university leadership, faculty and students, looked forward to enhancing India-focused academic activities and hosted the Indian Film Festival.


  • Ms. Maegan Stevens-Liska, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Global Affairs at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, looked forward to their faculty visit to India in March and also hosted another screening of the Film English Vinglish for their undergraduate students.


  • An interaction with Indian students and faculty was also hosted at Creighton University to apprise them of the Consulate’s outreach initiatives and services, and to inform them of the various ways in which the Consulate can assist them during their academic journey and stay in the region.


  • The nearly 20k plus Indian community resident in Omaha hosted a warm reception for the Indian Consulate delegation at the Hindu Temple and thanked GOI’s initiatives on community outreach and Gandhi ji statue at State Capitol in Nebraska.


  • A very successful Consular Camp at Hindu Temple Omaha saw participation of over 200 consular applicants, availing all kinds of consular services, including passports, OCI, visa and miscellaneous services.


  • Mayor of Omaha Hon’ble John W Ewing Jr, while inaugurating the Consular Camp, deeply appreciated the significant contributions of Indian American community in Omaha.
